President Johnson,

Pennsylvania State University issued a press release with the results of their investigation: "The Penn State Office of Student Conduct has completed the student conduct investigation and disciplinary process for 32 individuals related to the tragic death of Timothy Piazza at the now-banned Beta Theta Pi fraternity."

The incident that led to the death of Timothy Piazza took place in February 2017 - nine months ago. The incident that led to the death of our son Ryan Abele took place in October 2016 - more than a year ago.

During a conference call on May 3rd with Jerry Marczynski and Kimberly Thomas to discuss your university's investigation of Sigma Nu, I specifically asked whether any students were going to be suspended or expelled. They deferred to Gary Cardinal who cited federal law and refused to answer. I then re-phrased the question - without stating any names in order to maintain their privacy - have any students been suspended or expelled? Gary Cardinal again refused to answer.

Is federal law applied differently in Pennsylvania than it is in Nevada?

President Johnson, I am now asking you: How many of the people - involved in the planning and implementation of the events that resulted in the death of an 18 year old student at your university - were investigated for hazing, providing alcohol to underage students and endangering the health and safety of students?

How many of those investigated were found to be in violation of the student code of conduct? How many were suspended? How many were expelled?

Penn State issued a press release and told the whole world. UNR refused to tell the family.
